According to written records, it is the oldest spring in Luhačovice. It gushed forth on Spa Square, in the middle of the Grand Colonnade. The spring was first developed sometime between 1669 and 1680. Because of its very salty taste, it was called “Slaný” (Salty), and because carbon dioxide escaped from it with a loud bubbling sound, it was also known as the “Bubbling Spring.” In 1792, the spring was renovated and renamed “Amandka.” Further renovations took place in 1904 and 1908. The spring’s current functional design dates from 1947–1948, when the Great Colonnade was built. When a new well was drilled on the spa square in 1988 to a collection level of 50 m (Vincentka 2), the Amandka’s previous discharge level gradually decreased and it no longer flows to the surface. Its average flow rate was 3.7 l/min. Following the renovation of the colonnade, completed in 2019, you will find a drinking fountain from the nearby Vincentka spring at the site where Amandka once flowed.
