Before the start, he also received a symbolic certificate as a confirmation and thanks for the city's support of the charity bike tour. It was presented to him by the founder of the project, the well-known high-wheel rider Josef Zimovčák, who traditionally led the entire peloton. Since 2010, the Bike for Kids project has been systematically helping young cancer patients, for example by contributing to their convalescent stays after difficult treatment. From Luhačovice the peloton headed through Biskupice to Zlín and from there towards Uherské Hradiště and through other towns and villages to Bzenec. In total, with the prologue and 10 stages, the peloton will travel about 1300 km this year's tour, stage 2 was 112 km long. The start of the whole tour this year was on 10th June in Hlucin and the end is planned for 20th June in Lanškroun. Unlike other years, this year's cycling tour is organized without major accompanying events, because its preparation was obviously affected by the situation related to measures against the coronavirus epidemic. "At the beginning of March, the situation that we still perceive came up and the question of what to do next was before us. The idea was that even if I were to leave it alone on a bicycle with a cart, we would not stop the project. Another option was to reschedule the tour for the fall, when it would pretty much dissolve. So I'm glad we set this date, albeit exceptionally as a non-public bike tour, but people are still joining us and helping the kids will go. The town of Luhacovice, which is beautiful and supportive, has welcomed us nicely and is in tune with the 4Ps we profess. And that is Helping children, Partnership - all the people involved, Knowing the beauty of our country and Movement," Zimovčák noted. The local mayor also appreciates the fact that such a great project has visited Luhačovice several times.
"We are very happy that as a town we are participating in the project On the Bike for Children, which we like very much because it helps. We take it as an interesting contribution to our town that it is organized here," Mayor Ležák noted.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
