In Luhačovice, numerous Slovak artists and their countless spectators filled the programme of the Days of Slovak Culture from Thursday to Saturday. In a number of places, including the Spa Theatre (ugh it was hot), Spa Square, the newly opened beautiful Sun Spa and elsewhere. Among other things, the legacy of the unsurpassed Slovak architect Dusan Jurkovic and many other Czechs and Slovaks who contributed to the fact that the idea of friendship between the two nations lives on here today was remembered.
"Luhačovice has a wonderful tradition in this respect and it is a great honour for us to be able to continue it," welcomed the guests at the final meeting at the Alexandria Hotel, where the CEO of Lázně Luhačovice a.s. Jiří Dědek.
The organizing joint-stock company Lázně Luhačovice is already making plans for further beautification of this unique place.
"There will be extensive repairs in the Morava Hotel, among other things, but our plans are bolder, no need to reveal everything, but certainly our guests and partners can look forward to things for years to come, as we are pleased with their interest in the renovated Sun Spa," said the Chairman of the Board of LL a.s. Eduard Bláha.
As is his good habit, Mr. CEO Jiří Dědek also jumped into the strange, dramatic storyline of the 11th anniversary of the company.
"I didn't have any big ambitions here, I like to play, but not that often, there were others for the cups. Like many times we welcomed our business partners, friends and a number of celebrities. I think they enjoyed their time with us."
Marie Retková, for years a broadcaster and presenter on Czech Television and Czech Radio, has made great progress (in choosing a quality partner and in her own performance).
"I played with the chairman of the Luhačovice club, Libor Šimík, and he got me to the quarterfinals, which is my lifetime achievement here in this beautiful venue," rejoiced Ms. Marie, called "Mrs. Inconsistent" by the experts led by tournament director Dalibor Chrastina.
Martin Berdych, father of our most successful tennis player of the last decades, Tomas, played great as always. He reached the semi-finals with his friend Martin Liberda.
The overall winner was the first time doubles player Dušan Máčalík from Avonet in Zlín, wonderfully supported by top Brno orthopedist Luboš Nachtnebl.
Great congratulations, gentlemen... or great congratulations...

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
