The streets of Luhačovice are decorated these days with the exhibition Great Women in Small Baths. It presents significant female personalities who have made a significant mark in the history of Luhačovice spa.

The exhibition Great Women in Small Spas was prepared for the first time by the Museum of the Luhačovice Zálesí Forest in 2018 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of its foundation in 1918. The exhibition presents emancipated women, politicians, publicists, fighters for women's rights and artists who stayed in Luhačovice spas in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and made their mark on their history. Currently, the Luhačovice fringe association Calma has initiated a reprise in cooperation with the City of Luhačovice on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of Marie Calma Veselé.

The history of the building of the Luhačovice spa and the development of the village is usually associated with the personalities of prominent men, visionaries, builders, doctors and famous patients. Women, who make up half of the inhabitants and certainly more than half of the spa visitors, seem not to be worth mentioning. This disproportion is sought to be rectified by an exhibition referring to the 100th anniversary of Czechoslovak statehood. The First Republic was the period when, after many years of struggle, women gained the right to vote, were equalised with men and this equality was enshrined in the constitution.

The gallery of publicly active women in Luhačovice at the turn of the century included Gisela Blahová, Amálie Bobková, Simonetta Buonaccini, Marie Calma Veselá, Leopolda Dostalová, Zdenka Heydušková, Božena Hoferová, Anna Jurkovičová, Mária Lacková, Alice Masaryková, Anna Morávková-Kancnýřová, Ľudmila Podjavorinská, Oldra Sedlmayerová, Leopoldina Serényiová, Olga Scheinpfulgová, Zdenka Vorlová-Vlčková, Eva Vrchlická, Kamila Urválková, Jindřiška Wurmová and Lucie Václavíková.

The women featured in the exhibition are represented by hundreds of other unnamed personalities who have contributed to this change through their public actions. An important group in Luhačovice included Slovak women visitors to the spa, whose medallions were prepared by Viera Drahošová, director of the Záhorie Museum in Skalica.
