City offers to provide shopping for seniors

Seniors from Luhačovice and the local districts of Kladná Žilín, Polichno and Řetechov, who are registered in the Senior Taxi system, can request a purchase facility. The possibility can also be used by those citizens over 70 years of age who have not yet registered for the service.

"We want to make sure that even the oldest citizens who have no one in their neighbourhood do not have a problem with supply. Volunteers from the local Scouts and Sokol have offered to help with the delivery of the purchases, which is greatly appreciated," said Mayor Marian Ležák.

Purchase orders will be processed by phone through the City's Tourist and Information Center Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Purchases will be limited to a specific amount.

"A single purchase ordered by a senior can be up to the value of CZK 500. He will dictate to the information centre worker by phone what he needs to buy, and payment will be made upon delivery," the mayor added.
