First up, festival-goers can look forward to Mad Scissors, a play that has traveled almost around the world and is still being performed to enthusiastic audience reactions in Boston, Chicago, Washington, San Francisco, Montreal, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Budapest, Prague, Melbourne, London, Lodz, Honolulu, as well as in many other smaller and larger cities around the world - and to great success everywhere.
The "Crazy Scissors" hair salon, run by the master of combs - and of course scissors - Tony Kulma, has an exclusive clientele and enjoys great popularity with customers. However, the highly professional reputation is suddenly threatened when a murder unexpectedly occurs in the apartment next door. The suspects are both employees of the hair salon and its visitors. The police and... the audience take over the investigation! And on Thursday, September 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Spa Theatre.
Friday's program will delight architecture lovers, who will be able to follow in the footsteps of Slovak architect Dušan Jurkovič during a guided tour called Luhačovice and the Legacy of Dušan Jurkovič. Those interested will meet at 2 p.m. at the Information Centre at the colonnade.
An hour later, a unveiling ceremony will be held for a bench dedicated to Luhačovice doctor, Slovak politician and revivalist Pavel Blaho. If you want to be there, come to Lázeňské náměstí at 3 pm. There, the afternoon will continue with a colonnaded concert in folk rhythms.
On Saturday at 3 pm, the Slovak group of professional musicians Mix Quartet has prepared a colonnaded concert consisting of musical melodies, evergreens and Dixiland.
This year's Festival of Slovak Culture will conclude at 7:30 p.m. at the Spa Theatre with a concert by Gioia, a unique blend of opera singing and popular music in a program of world music and Slovak hits.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
