The exhibition on the pedestrian zone in Luhačovice presents the personalities of painters who came to Luhačovice at the beginning of the 20th century and were inspired by its landscape. Not only were many extraordinary canvases created in Luhačovice, but a number of stimulating and strong friendships developed, made possible by the social and cultural background of the spa environment.
In addition to the circumstances of the creation of the paintings of the Luhačovice alley, the forest interiors and views of the spa valley, the publication captures the thread of the painter Antonín Slavíček's relationship with the local miller family Janík and his friendship with Ladislav Janík, the correlation of Stanislav Lolk's drawings with the creation of Těsnohlídka's novel and subsequently Janáček's opera The Cunning Little Vixen, the fate of painter and poet František Pečinka, Jury Pacák, Otto Ottmar and many other stories.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
