From the bay on the Pozlovice side we head towards the place where the Št'ovnice river supplies the local dam with ice water. The view of it in winter time is again very different than in normal times, when you can find here a lot of fishermen and other recreationists. Snow and ice mix on the surface.
When we reach the dam, it's not a bad idea to head down. Towards Luhačovice. And that's what the famous Jurkovic Alley is for. Some of the buildings don't exactly do the honours, the large sports complex on the right side is obviously not in shape for a long time. Yet it is a large space, which is not often seen here elsewhere and it is certainly a challenge to improve.
However, after a few hundred metres of walking around specific mini-rivers and rafts we find things much more pleasant.
As our path turns back, it is clear that the reconstruction of the Water Treatment Institute connected to the River and Sun Baths is not slowing down. In time, when they are in their full glory, the Luhačovice spa will have a magnificent new landmark. By the way, this is an extremely historically valuable set of buildings by the famous Slovak architect Dušan Jurkovič, without whose buildings Luhačovice would not be what it is.
We go back past the Spa House Prague, the Government Villa, the Augustinian House Hotel and gradually rejoin Jurkovič's alley. Reliably, we climb the gentle incline to the dam and head to the starting point on the left side of the dam.
We are delighted by the walk among the snowflakes, and severely dismayed by the last sight.
The former Voronezh recreation facility has changed many owners and is apparently going from ten to five, or minus five. Its torso is truly awful even in early 2022, and an otherwise pleasant winter outing can't change that.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
