Good day to you, how are you?
Thanks for asking, I can say very good, because spring. As we all know, this is the most beautiful time of the year and a person of any age, including my advanced age of course, will come into bloom.
What are you up to professionally with your girls and their saxophones?
First, a little look back, if you don't mind. It fills us with pleasant feelings. But of course, we live on the pulse of the times. Now now, today, tomorrow and so on.
Just out of curiosity, how are you doing with your memory without a diary. When's your next gig?
So it'll be here, I'm going to check out the Vincent Hall. This is where we'll be performing this Sunday, April 23rd. Then we're off to our friends in Trenčianske Teplice, Slovakia, to open the new spa season. Three days later, in early May, we will have a similar honour, opening the season in Karlovy Vary for a change. We will also stop in Mariánské Lázně. And, as I count it, there will be another performance in Baden, Austria, which is, of course, a famous spa.
Mr. Schlimbach, I deliberately don't want to let my memories float, but still, when and where did this unique ensemble actually come into being?
Well, it's really history now, it happened in Vlachovice, it was 1964, next year we'll be 60 years old.
Unbelievable. By the way, how are you personally doing on the saxophone?
I can play, of course, it would be perfect to have a saxophone orchestra and not master the instrument. I don't play it often, but I like to, and more so when I'm teaching girls in rehearsals and just want to show them what I think it should look like. And then I also play at home when I write out new solos from the score for the girls.
And finally, just a memory. When was the first time you played the saxophone?
It was in my hometown of Lutin. There was a big orchestra there, the environment literally fascinated me, I was always around the musicians. Which didn't escape the saxophonist. He got me an old saxophone and taught me how to play it. I think it was 1947, what was that?
Well, that's it... So good luck and good health to you all.
Me too and happy spring to all.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
