Text about the situation in ZÁLESÍ, a.s., providing information valid as of March 19

In view of the current emergency measures, we would like to assure the public that we are continuously taking steps to manage this situation in our company. The Board of Directors of Zálesí a.s., the management of the company and the directors of the individual divisions are closely monitoring the developments. A working group has been set up to set up effective measures to prevent the emergence and spread of the disease inside and outside Zálesí. We want to assure you that the lives and health of people have our utmost priority.

A number of our employees are also showing initiative and belonging to their surroundings in these difficult times and are tackling the shortage of protective material and equipment with amazing dedication on their own. Our plant employees have secured disinfectant suppliers, drape suppliers, and have also secured materials, sewing machines, and are sewing drapes for all company employees. For this I would like to express my sincere admiration and thanks to them.

Many of our employees work from home, but our entire team at Zálesí a.s. is available and prepared to deal with such a situation. We continue to be able to provide our services to and communicate with all of our business partners.

We hope and expect that our actions will help overcome these extraordinary circumstances affecting our country, which will help to stop or mitigate the development of the epidemic and thus protect the health and lives of our employees, their families and all citizens.

As of this writing, all of our company's businesses and operations are running in standard mode. Only the services of our Wellness Hotel Pohoda have been temporarily closed until the end of March due to a decree of the Government of the Czech Republic and also for the precautionary protection of our employees and guests.

The whole of Europe, including businesses, is now in a state of crisis due to the coronavirus epidemic. The government is addressing the situation with measures to stop or mitigate the epidemic from developing and protect the health and lives of citizens. Unfortunately, these measures are also having a negative impact on businesses. The automotive industry is reporting the first production stoppages. Information is coming in from all over the world about the closure of car factories. In Europe, PSA Huday, Fiat and VW, which includes our Škoda Auto MB, are temporarily closing their plants. The shutdown and the reduction or stoppage of production will therefore not be avoided even by our company, which supplies the automotive industry with 50% of its industrial production.

I am afraid that the effects on the economies of the whole world and, of course, on our company will begin to manifest themselves with great intensity in the coming days. It is therefore essential to anticipate such developments so that we can prepare for a deeper crisis. As a leading representative of Zálesí, I am very much aware of this possibility and together with the top management we are already taking steps to minimize possible losses.

Today it is impossible to estimate how long the epidemic and its impact on the economy of Europe, the Czech Republic, our society and our citizens will last, but it is necessary to take into account the negative impact. As in my company, I advise all citizens to keep a cool head and calm, and to prepare for worse times based on rational considerations.

Today I have only one certainty and that is that everything will turn around for the better. I wish this from the bottom of my heart to all employees of Zálesí and all citizens of Luhačovice.

Ing. Jaromír Semela, Chairman of the Board of Zálesí a.s.
