Luhačovice has its "spariver." No one misses the Juice River, overwhelmed with a piece of pastry to splash the water dwellers, they stand on bridges and feed and feed... Water ducks and, to the delight of the children, especially fish, have a stronghold here.
Little is actually known about the sympathetic river itself, people sort of take it for granted. A little education is in order. It's only 24 kilometres long before it's cut off by the more aggressive Olšava at Újezdec. However, from its source at Loučka, the Šťávnice has extraordinary merits in about half of its calm, sometimes after rains quite predatory flow. It supplies the famous Luhačovice dam. It then flows through the town, adorns Biskupice and Polichno, and then resigns itself to becoming the Olšava.
The bridges and bridges over it are often right in the heart of the spa towns a beautiful architectural gem. And if only they could tell you how many hugs and sponges they have seen...
The stylish Chapel of St. Elizabeth also adds a romantic face to Luhačovice's summer. It has lived its life for the fourth century, built in 1795 at the end of the 18th century. A few historical glances are not without interest. First and foremost, the wooden altar is original, and we need not discuss its rarity and value.
The bell there was a casualty of the First (senseless) World War. It's called requisitioning. It was melted down and used to make weapons, plain and simple. Today, of course, the bell is not missing, it was blessed recently, in 2013 during the famous Luhačovice pilgrimage. It is the oldest preserved building in this part of Luhačovice.
A separate mention and admiration of visitors deserves at the other end of the Spa Square the House of Bedřich Smetana. It is built in the Art Nouveau style with cubist elements, architecturally it could serve as a textbook with its unique staircase. The BM House, now one of the most sought-after spa hotels, opened in 1909, the quarter-century since the death of the great Czech musician, whose family had a warm relationship with the place. In the mid-1990s, the "Smetana" underwent its last reconstruction to date. Anyway, it is one of the most beautiful buildings in Luhačovice.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
