Luhačovice attracts fiancés to the wedding. The most preferred place last year was the Augustinian House

A total of 71 couples were married in the Luhačovice registry district last year, of which 12 were church ceremonies and 59 were civil ceremonies. In civil marriages, 31 couples were married in the ceremonial hall of the town hall, while another 28 chose another place.

"The most preferred was the Augustinian House right on the territory of Luhačovice, then the Hotel Harmonie II, the Music Pavilion or the Vincentka Hall. In Pozlovice it was Hotel Vega, Pohoda, Na Vyhlídce and u Ogara. Weddings were also held in Horní Lhota, where the most popular place to get married was Myslivecká chata," said Jana Gazdová from the population registry.

There are currently a total of 4,969 inhabitants in Luhačovice and associated municipalities. "In 2022, 39 children were born in Luhačovice, 21 boys and 18 girls. The most popular boys' names were Jakub and Antonín, with Elen leading among girls," Jana Gazdová said.

On average, Luhačovice residents live to be 78 years old. It is interesting to compare individual local districts in this respect. In Polichno the number of inhabitants slightly decreased during the last year, while in Řetechov and Kladná Žilín the number of citizens increased, even though no babies were born in Kladná Žilín last year. The increase there was caused by a relatively large number of people newly registered to live there.
