Fun, dancing, singing, a tempting raffle, but also a charitable subtext. This was the spirit of the Second Luhačovice Ball. The social event, which was hosted by the moderator duo Marek Vašut and Hana Srncová, managed to raise over 100 thousand crowns for good causes.

Saturday evening at the Elektra Cultural and Congress Centre in Luhačovice was clear proof that the public is very interested in the town ball. Tickets were sold out to the last seat and almost 600 people attended the event. A raffle was sold during the evening, the proceeds of which went to the non-profit organization Korunka pomáhá, which distributed the total amount of 103,500 crowns among three families.
"22,000 crowns will go to Dorotka Obadalová to pay for a new wheelchair, 50,000 crowns will go to Jirko Parenic from Luhačovice and 31,500 crowns will help the family of six-year-old Matýsek from Zlín, who was diagnosed with leukaemia before Christmas," said Luhačovice spokeswoman Hana Srncová.
The most valuable prize of the raffle was a TV set donated by the Luhačovice town hall. The winners eventually gave it to the non-profit organization Korunka pomáhá, which will then give it to the Children's Home. "A big thank you to everyone who bought the raffle." said Korunka founder Veronika Záhorská.
Mayor of Luhačovice Marian Ležák was also delighted with the pleasant atmosphere that prevailed at the ball throughout the evening until the early hours of the morning. "From the opening ceremony, there was a great energy that pulsed through the halls and that absorbed everyone. Thanks are due to KKC Elektra for the organization, the sponsors for their support and all the participants and performers for creating a great atmosphere," added Marian Ležák.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
