The best place to live in the Zlín Region is Luhačovice. This was shown by the survey Municipalities in Data, which compares the quality of life in a total of 205 municipalities with extended jurisdiction. The spa town also scored in the national scale, where it closes the top forty places.

The quality of life is evaluated in the ranking through 29 indices, which are composed of selected data obtained by robotic collection and cooperation with public institutions such as the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, CERMAT, the Czech Statistical Office or the Labour Office of the Czech Republic.
The result of Luhačovice is mainly based on low unemployment, strong social and economic stability of the population and a systematic effort to grow the number of permanently registered residents.
"This is not a one-time jump, but the current position is based on the long-term shift of the city for all four years for which the ranking is based. Overall, they moved from 107th to 40th. However, at the very core, it is not so important what value the index takes on, but what its long-term trend is," said Ondřej Krejčí, a consultant with Municipalities in Data.
According to the index assessment, Luhačovice was rated the best in the Zlín region for relationships and services and also has the lowest unemployment rate in the region. The city is also at the very top of the region in terms of population foreclosures, which is supported by the fact that it ranked fifth in the entire country in the assessment of this index. The city also ranks high in the traffic accident rate and residents' interest in voting.
On the other hand, Luhačovice's weakest point, according to these results, is its road network. The ranking assesses the extent of the road network, how far it is possible to drive from the village in 30 minutes. The worsening affordability of housing or, paradoxically, the worsening air quality may also be a warning.
Otrokovice and Uherské Hradiště also ranked very well, which in turn benefit from their accessibility and thus easier accessibility to services in the area. The whole region, together with the South Moravian Region, achieved the most significant increase in the ranking, confirming the trend of increasing attractiveness.

The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
