Residents of Luhačovice have another reason to rejoice. In a survey organized by the Institute of Spa and Balneology and the Karlovy Vary Business Development Agency, Luhačovice ranked first as the most sought-after spa destination. "L spa guests, who have stayed at least once during the past 10 years, were asked how they rate the public infrastructure and services of the spa place they visited last time," said Ondřej Hruška, one of the project's creators.
The spa guests focused on public infrastructure such as walking trails and parks. At the same time, they also evaluated the level of public transport, the quality of pavements, roads, garbage bins and last but not least, they were also interested in parking spaces and public toilets. When evaluating the services, respondents focused on information centres, colonnades, cafés, restaurants, bars, beauty and hairdressing services and the possibility of cultural and sports activities.
The survey participants evaluated individual criteria in the same way as at school - an A represented a very good level, while a F represented a very poor level. In terms of public infrastructure, spa guests rated the most highly the routes for spa walks, with an average score of 1.59.And other public infrastructure elements were rated positively, such as city parks, benches, information and orientation systems and colonnades. The biggest weakness of spa towns can be considered to be parking areas with an average grade of 2.32," Ondřej Hruška specified.
The best ranked in the survey of spa towns was Luhačovice, which ranks at the top both in the offer of services and the level of infrastructure. The popularity of the town among spa guests is also highly appreciated by the mayor of Luhačovice Marian Ležák. "I am very happy with the result of the survey and I see it as a beautiful testimonial to all those who are involved in the improvement of the town. T being named the most sought-after spa place is a wonderful calling card of our joint work. Thanks to all those who co-create the welcoming spa atmosphere, and I believe we will continue our joint efforts" added the satisfied mayor.
