Practically immediately after the devastating floods that paralyzed the Czech Republic two weeks ago, a wave of aid to the needy spread across the country through public financial or material collections. Humanitarian aid worth almost half a million crowns was also sent by the charitable associations Korunka Luhačovice and Korunka Velké Losiny to Česká Ves, Karlovice and Holčovice in northern Moravia.

Koruna managed to organize the material collection very quickly thanks to the cooperation with the town of Luhačovice and the municipality of Vlčnov. The volunteer fire brigades from Luhačovice, Pozlovice and Vlčnov were also very actively involved, escorting the humanitarian convoy of five vehicles to the places affected by the floods. One of the collection points was also at the football stadium of the 1. FC Slovácko club in Uherské Hradiště.
"Thank you, thanks to all donors and companies, we were able to provide humanitarian aid to three flood-hit municipalities in record time in one day. We believe that we have relieved at least part of the suffering of the residents of Česká Ves, Karlovice and Holčovice. We continue to stay in touch with the municipalities regarding other material needs. Our help in this area is definitely not the last," said Veronika Crha Záhorská, the founder of both associations, who delivered the aid to the villages together with other volunteers.
People delivered almost everything the villages requested to the three collection points within one day. From clearing and work tools, disinfectants, hygiene supplies to food. Thanks to generous donors, the humanitarian aid also included valuable donations such as electric generators, cookers, power banks and fuel.
"A big thank you also goes to all those who sent financial contributions to our transparent account 2801896248/2010. The money will be used for the benefit of families or organisations from the areas affected by the floods," added Veronika Crha Záhorská.
Special thanks go to the Luhačovice and Pozlovice Volunteer Fire Brigades, Luhačovice Technical Services, the town of Luhačovice, the municipality of Vlčnov, the football club 1.FC Slovácko and the companies Royal Spa, LLL Miramare Luhačovice, Zálesí, Vincentka, Hydraulika Petráš and all other donors and volunteers who participated in the humanitarian collection.

The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
