Luhačovice remains free of the disease, the town office continues to operate for the public

He is pleased not only with this positive news, but also with the behaviour of the citizens during the state of emergency. "Even when people can't socialize, they try their best to help others. Volunteers give us dozens of blankets they have sewn and then we can distribute them to those most in need, and help with shopping for the elderly is developing. Outside of that, neighbors and people in families, for example, help each other out, with everyone trying to follow the regulations about wearing the drapes and keeping their distance from others. I would like to be very appreciative of the way people have handled the emergency situation because it helps a lot with the calm atmosphere of the entire town," the mayor noted.
The town also continues to maintain an office that is used for personal business when necessary and tries to accommodate citizens as much as possible. Further information was added by the secretary of the Luhačovice City Council František Hubáček. We have decided to adapt even more to the needs of the citizens and at the same time increase preventive measures against possible infection. Therefore, from Wednesday 25 March, the office will be open on two dates on designated days," said Hubáček. "The office will now be open on Mondays and Wednesdays in two time slots 8:00 - 9:00 and 15:00 - 17:00. The morning hours may suit seniors in connection with the reserved time for their shopping in the shops, while the afternoon hours accommodate people who go to work. However, it remains the case that people can only go to the office to deal with really necessary matters that need to be dealt with by a visit. This must be arranged beforehand by phone or e-mail with the relevant employee," Hubáček pointed out. On Monday, 23 March, the town hall will still be open from 9:00 to 12:00, as the officials have already booked several necessary meetings with citizens by phone. In order for the office to continue to operate successfully in a difficult situation, the town hall is introducing other measures. "We have divided the staff into two teams that are not allowed to meet in person. If one part of the officials is eliminated from being able to continue to function because of a possible personal home quarantine, the other team can continue to function and the office will not be paralyzed," Hubacek added.
Similar to the operation of the office, the city's top management has now set up a split operation. "We will no longer meet in person with Deputy Mayor Jiří Šůstek and everything will be resolved by phone or e-mail. The aim is that in the event of a future infection of one of us and the subsequent home quarantine, the city leadership will not be paralyzed," outlined Mayor Lezak. "But of course we hope that such a measure will not be necessary and Luhačovice will avoid the epidemic if possible or will be affected as little as possible," concluded the mayor.
Summary of opening hours of the Luhačovice Municipal Office on March 23 from 9:00 - 12:00 from March 25 always on Mondays and Wednesdays on both days from 8:00 - 9:00 and 15:00 - 17:00

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
