Luhačovice spa hotels won prestigious European award for innovation

The prestigious prizes, which are competed for each year by several dozen spa venues from all over Europe, were awarded in a total of eight categories. In this year's competition of 35 nominated entries, spa innovations at the Royal Spa, which includes the Nivamare and Miramare hotels, succeeded in two categories.

In the category of innovative spa product, the special treatment programme Sleep Balance of the Nivamare Spa Hotel won, while the special prize of the expert jury went to the treatment programme for post-covid syndrome at the Miramare Spa Hotels, which has achieved significant clinical success.

"We see the winning of these two prestigious European awards as a recognition of our long-term innovative approach. We are delighted to have succeeded in such a large competition. We are constantly striving to innovate our treatments to provide the best possible care for our clients and it is clear that we are on the right track," commented Martin Plachý, CEO of the Royal Spa Group, on winning the European award.

The jury was most impressed by the special Sleep Balance stay, which is part of the innovative Health Balance concept. The uniqueness of this project lies in the combination of therapeutic services, spa environment and technologies that are part of the unique sleep rooms at the Nivamare Spa Hotel in Luhačovice.

"This is the first project of this type in the spa industry where we work with the client practically continuously throughout the day, either with therapeutic treatments or with the help of bio-dynamic lighting that is built into their room. Moreover, the therapeutic effect is objectified by means of special sensors that are placed in the bed so that they can assess the quality of sleep, but at the same time do not restrict or disturb the client in any way," explained Aleš Příhoda, head of rehabilitation care and development of therapeutic methods of the spa facilities of the Royal Spa Group.

A key part of the stay is light hygiene, which is helped by a light system from Spectrasol. The scientifically confirmed positive effects of these lights include improvements in performance, productivity, concentration, cognitive function, emotional state and the overall health and vitality of users. Experts in chronobiology from the National Institute of Mental Health also contributed to the development of the European award-winning treatment program.
