"

The Ministry of Health has issued an emergency measure as a necessary precaution against the risk of the spread of coronavirus. Therefore, the Luhačovice Primary School, the Luhačovice Secondary School, the Luhačovice Elementary School and, following the decision of the town administration, the DDM will be closed from tomorrow. The kindergartens are not yet covered by the measure and the kindergarten in Luhačovice remains open with regard to parents," informed the mayor Marian Ležák. Due to the development of the situation, the town is also introducing other measures. "Following the decision to ban mass events, we are also cancelling tomorrow's public meeting with citizens at the town hall and the planned meetings with citizens of local districts, which were to take place in the following week, for precautionary reasons. As soon as the situation allows, we will find alternative dates for them," added Ležák.

Because the current events bring many restrictions throughout the region, the mayor decided to address the situation also within the Luhačovice municipality.

"I have called together the mayors within the Luhačovice ORP at 2 pm to discuss the impact of the measures on all municipalities," the mayor added. However, he urges the citizens to calm down. "It is important to realise that this is a preventive measure to protect us all, and it is precisely to reduce the danger to the population," Ležák pointed out. He said people should also heed advice on hygiene rules, which can prevent the spread of the epidemic. People's lives will be affected by the new regulations, but society will continue to function in many ways as normal.

Transportation and the functioning of shops will not be restricted, so people can go to work normally. They just have to take into account that, in addition to the closure of schools, all events, whether sporting or cultural, with over 100 people in attendance will be cancelled from 6pm today. So people will not, for example, be able to go to the Elektra Cultural Center for the Hradistan concert originally scheduled for tonight.
