"The first performance will be by Antonín Koníček's Boršičanka on 10 July. During the summer, Vracovjáci, Vlčnovjanka and other brass bands will also perform. We are very happy to be able to offer these dance entertainments to the people again, because there is a long-lasting demand for them. In short, we want people to have a rich cultural offer in Luhačovice this year as well," said Hana Slováková, the director of the Elektra City Cultural Centre. The cultural centre is also expanding the number of screenings in the cinema. "After the reopening, we held only two screenings a week. People have found their way to our cinema again, so from July we are increasing the number of screenings to four days a week," Slováková added.
People can also enjoy various other events. "We are also involved in the preparation of the Luhačovice fair, which commemorates the anniversary of the opening of the Holy Family Church. People can look forward to it on Sunday, 12 July. In the summer, the audience in Elektra is also going to enjoy the programme Etiquette in a Nutshell, with which Ladislav Špaček, former spokesman for President Havel, is coming. At the turn of July and August, we will have a series of performances connected with the traditional Václav Hudeček Violin Academy. At the end of the holidays we have prepared for the audience a theatrical comedy Lordi, starring Martin Hofmann, known from the series Most," the director outlined.
The Elektra House of Culture also offers interesting exhibitions. "Oil paintings by Pavel Bělovský are now on display in our gallery, and from 6 July they will be replaced by the popular terrarium exhibition for the rest of the holidays," Slováková added. A new long-term exhibition can be seen from this week at the Museum of the Luhačovice Zálesí Forest, which is also located in the Elektra building. The exhibition is called "Blue" and is dedicated to dyeing, blueprinting, sewing batik and other traditional techniques in folk culture.
The cultural offer in the town also includes the resumption of regular colonnade concerts on Spa Square. People can also go for live music at a number of venues that organise music nights. For those who want to learn more about the architecture and history of the town, regular Tuesday guided tours of the town organised by the Elektra Information Centre have been resumed. The aforementioned Church of the Holy Family can again be visited with a guided tour as part of the Open Gates project.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
