"People come to Zlín and Luhačovicko for unspoilt nature, spas and architecture," says destination manager Jana Pastyříková. "We wanted to introduce them to the music and gastronomy of the region during their travels. Traditional and honest."
On Sunday, September 13 from 10am to 5pm in Luhačovice, you will find stalls with tastings of local delicacies - ciders from Hostětín, marmalades from Otrokovice, potato chips from Slavičín, goat cheese and farm products, beers from a local brewery, White Carpathian herbs or sourdough bread.
Herb growers from Vlachovice, who have reconstructed a centuries-old drying kiln, will come. Their herbs are sold to hotel kitchens and baths across the country. They will also be joined by traditional potato chip producers from Slavičín, who have been frying potato chips for more than 25 years. With carver Pavel Hutěčka, children will be able to try their hand at woodworking.
Music for adults and a programme for the youngest children
"There will be creative workshops for children from the Atelier Radost or the Bojkovsko Museum, a stand of the Film Knot or a photo corner with hats," invites families with children Jana Pastyříková from the Destination Society Zlínsko a Luhačovicko, which is co-organising the event with its members. "Children can make jewellery or, together with an experienced candle maker, cast their own candle."
Each of the regions that belong to Zlínsko a Luhačovicko will also bring their own music to Luhačovice. The Provodovská šestka, the Wallachian ensemble Portáš with the dulcimer music Vizovický Juráš, Trnkovjanka, the unadulterated bagpiper Petr Sovják or the ethnographic ensemble Klobučan from Valašské Klobouky, as well as the countrybeat band Fénix from Uherský Brod will perform.
"We are glad that the first edition of Our village, our joy will take place in the heart of Luhačovice. The joint effort of municipalities and micro-regions to enrich cultural events in the Zlín region will also be the festive end of the traditional Luhačovice event Festival of Song and Dance. We perceive that during the event there will be certain hygiene restrictions, but at the same time we are trying to maintain culture in our region", optimistically adds the mayor of Luhačovice Marian Ležák.
The event is organized by the Destination Society Zlínsko a Luhačovicko in cooperation with its members, the partners of the event are the Zlín Region, the East Moravia Tourism Centre, Lázně Luhačovice, a. s. and the town of Luhačovice. Admission to the event is free, the full programme can be found on the website Zlínsko a Luhačovicko.cz.
