Luhovaný Vincent will be "over the line" this year

"Across the line" was chosen by the organizers of Luhované Vincent as the central theme of the 12th edition. It is this motto, which explores the question of boundaries and limits that divide society, opinions, politics, ideas, groups of people, their possibilities, nations, gender, religion and much more, that will be the unifying link for the majority of the festival programme.

How the dividing line manifests itself directly in the location where the festival is taking place was revealed by the festival's dramaturge Petr Knepr.

"Luhačovice is sometimes sharply perceived as two separate parts - the city and the spa. As if they were irreconcilable camps divided by a line between two spaces of one city. And we, too, when putting together the festival programme, encounter the limits of our own considerations and knowledge, as well as unconsciously wondering whether "right here" "right there" is too much. If it's not already over the line." explained Petr Knepr.

But according to him, that "dividing line" is mostly only in our imagination.

"Until the lines are drawn on the ground, public spaces are divided by a wall, and their permeability is guarded by a gunman, they are only on paper, in our heads, in our own abstract world where anything is possible. Maybe even to cross the line, or to abolish its concept altogether. It takes courage to do that. We are trying to find it and not be afraid to go a step further, to cross the line." concluded the festival's dramaturg.
