The lantern procession will be led by Martin on a white horse, who will lead the crowd to the town hall, where the blessing of the St. Martin's wine will take place.
"We are glad that this event in Luhačovice has become a popular tradition and the interest in participation grows every year. I cordially invite all residents and visitors of the town to come and enjoy the festive atmosphere, the rich accompanying programme and the tasting of St. Martin's wines," said the town mayor Marian Ležák, who will personally welcome Martin and his white horse Benny.
The lantern parade participants are scheduled to meet at 16:45 in front of the KKC Elektra cinema. Benny the horse, belonging to Mrs. Dáje, is already twenty-five years old, calm and tolerates the company of people well, so parade participants can be sure of a pleasant atmosphere.
The Elektra Cultural and Congress Centre, as the main organizer of the event, has prepared a varied programme.
"Visitors can look forward to period music by the Calata group, performances by the Janáček choir and the Berendal historical fencing group. The highlight of the evening will be a fire show, which will give the whole event a festive ending," said Luhačovice spokeswoman Hana Srncová.
For those interested in gastronomy, there will be a St. Martin's feast in front of the town hall, including tasting of St. Martin's wines, duck specialties, hot punch and traditional sweet and savoury sips.
"The lantern parade and accompanying program are for all ages, and children can purchase their own lanterns on site. The entire celebration will conclude shortly before 7 p.m.," Srncova added.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
