"Zhusta, boys, zhusta, the end of the carnival, the carnival is coming to an end, it will not return!" These exclamations will also be heard by all those who will go to Luhačovice on Saturday, February 11, where the traditional carnival will break out. The event, popular with locals and non-locals alike, will begin with a fancy dress parade performed by the Malé Zálesí Folklore Ensemble, whose members will ask the mayor himself for permission for the carnival, who will then take over the town.
Visitors to the carnival can look forward to dancing with a bear, a performance by the Bobkovníky from Bystřice pod Lopeníkem, who will perform a sabre dance, and there will also be a wide range of food and drink on offer at the all-day fair in front of the post office.
The tour route of the Malé Zálesí Folklore Ensemble will lead from the post office, where the fancy dress parade will leave at 10:30 am. The route will then lead through Masarykova, Krátká, Nádražní, Komenského, Školní, Komenského, Slunná, Hrazanská, V Drahách, Ludkovická and will end at Stráni. The Bystřice Bobcat Tour will start at 2:30 pm in front of the post office and will continue along Dr. Veselý Street to the Theatre Café and then back to the post office.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
