Mitigation plan: pupils are due to enter primary school at the end of May

Children from Luhačovice could once again take their seats in primary school classrooms on 25 May. This follows from the plan for the gradual easing of restrictive measures presented by the Czech Government on Tuesday 14 April.

But only pupils of the first grade are to go to primary schools. They are to be taught only in groups of 15 pupils per class, so that children can be sufficiently spaced apart. This will obviously be demanding on space, which is also why the older pupils from the upper grades are to continue to be home-schooled. By allowing the younger children to attend school, parents will not have to stay at home with them and can head off to work.

In conjunction with this is another series of planned coronavirus relaxations, which will also gradually allow various shops and establishments to open in several waves. The plan envisages five dates on which the various measures will be released. The first date is Monday, April 20, when, among other things, artisans' establishments, farmers' markets, as well as wedding ceremonies with up to ten participants are to be allowed. The next dates are also Mondays, namely April 27, May 11, May 25 and June 8.

Smaller shops are expected to open gradually, then larger ones, and finally large shopping malls. The final phase would include opening indoor restaurant and hotel spaces and allowing public events, but with a maximum number of participants and other conditions. For example, the outdoor gardens of pubs and restaurants could be open as early as 25 May. The relaxation of restrictions is to be accompanied by strict requirements for specific hygiene measures, for example in schools or in the locations of open establishments. Moreover, the plan to relax the measures on specific dates may not be definitive, according to the state administration, as it may be adjusted according to the current developments in the management of the coronavirus epidemic, which has so far been successfully contained. Below the article we provide a table of the basic plan for the release of measures. However, it does not include, for example, other of the changes presented, such as allowing classes in elementary art schools or permitting the operation of clubs within children's and youth homes in small groups of five. Exactly how and when all the measures are implemented by the state may therefore not yet be final. There is also the question of how specifically the various companies, organisations or local governments that are the founders of the various institutions that will be reopened will react. The management of the town of Luhačovice will also have to set, together with the directors of the individual contributory organisations, what concrete steps will be taken in connection with the easing of the situation. For example, in addition to the matters already mentioned, the education sector is also concerned with how the conditions in kindergartens will be adjusted. Of course, the management of Luhačovice is continuously addressing the situation of all the organisations it establishes and is aware of how important they are for the everyday life of the citizens. For example, a possible change in the functioning of the Luhačovice Primary School or the Luhačovice Kindergarten is very important for the residents and it is clear that people would like to know as soon as possible how the situation will develop. However, the information about the government's release plan is very recent, so the specific position of the town on these issues is still being worked out. "Exactly where we stand on the situation will be clearer on Monday when the City Council takes up the topic of education," explained Mayor Marian Ležák.
