New guidebook introduces tourists to the architecture of Luhačovice

The intention of the new tourist guide is to present Luhačovice with more emphasis on architecture, buildings and their creators. The visitors can get acquainted with 35 architects or builders and 60 buildings.

The authors of the guide were inspired by the diversity of architecture in Luhačovice, which is not for nothing said to be a textbook of architecture. The variety of architectural styles gives this spa town a unique and exceptional character. By using existing publications authored by Blanka Petráková and Ladislava Horňáková, information about the architects and their works has been gathered into a practical fold-out brochure.

"In this project we offer the possibility of an unusual walk around Luhačovice for local residents, spa guests, tourists and architecture lovers. There are a total of 60 objects marked on the map included in the brochure. However, we wanted to take a slightly different approach, which is why it is an introduction to the architects, builders and developers," said Jarmila Ďurďová, the co-author of the project.

The organizers will gradually mark all the buildings along the route with QR codes, which will link the interested parties to a web environment where they will learn more details about the architects, the history of the buildings, as well as interesting stories of the inhabitants of these architectural gems. Three routes are incorporated into the map, which are divided by difficulty level.
