The employees of the Luhačovice Spa have been working intensively in recent days, especially on the renovation of the spa area after the winter season. It may not seem like it at first glance, but there are more than enough small adjustments needed after this year's hard winter, whether it is cleaning and maintaining the sidewalks, planting new flowers, removing dirt from the grassy areas and grooming them, trimming the surrounding vegetation or bringing in new clean sand.
The spa grounds also saw the restoration of Dr. Happy's Spring, which has been open to the public again since last Tuesday. The stonemasons mainly repaired cracks in several places of the spring vase and sanded its entire surface. All the work cost 44,000 crowns.
The Dr. Št'astný mineral water spring was drilled in 1929 during the digging of the Janovka well, originally named Geyser and gushed up to 20 metres. However, the well was damaged in 1963 and re-drilled in 1967, when it was modified into its present form. It is named after Dr. František Št'astný, a native of Luhačovice, who was martyred by the Nazis for treating wounded partisans during World War II.
The spring rises on the edge of the spa park near the theatre and as a healing natural resource is used for inhalation and drinking spa treatment.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
