The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Slovakia Tomáš Tuhý has a lot of sporting blood, so he will apparently appear again on Saturday together with the general director of the Luhačovice Spa Eduard Bláha on the courts of the tennis complex. According to both successful men, one thing is clear: time spent with sport - on a bicycle, on a football lawn and on clay - does not count and takes away wrinkles and years.
"While in the first edition of the tournament in 2014 we had sixteen participants, this year we count up to forty, which is a shift and requires us to fully use the capacity of five courts. Our tournament is just getting bigger, we will prepare on the panels at Ottovka a cross-section of what has been happening so far and we will offer those who are not going to play to see who all has already fought in the sweat of their face for the fifties," invites the main organizer Dalibor Chrastina, who as always will be able to rely on a number of helpers.
"This is definitely one of the nicest events of its kind, I can say that with a clear conscience, I know a lot of them," looks forward to the spa smashes of the defending champion of last year, the father of our until recently world champion Tomas Berdych Martin, who will arrive this year with his partner Martin Liberda.
Television, radio and writing journalists are also going to the event to chat with the yellow balls. "I had a big dilemma, we just have the national championship of journalists in Stara Boleslav, I choose this beautiful event, maybe because my wife and I are looking forward to the highlight of the Days of Slovak Culture. This year, it will be the Slovak vocal group Fragile, so we will have fun on the courts and in the spa theatre," says Martin Břenek, the finalist of the aforementioned national championship.
Participation in the tournament and the Days of Slovak Culture is also a matter of course for Jiří Dědek, the executive director of the Luhačovice Spa. "I am looking forward to all events, Luhačovice was and is a symbol of friendship of both our nations and countries, we do not give each other anything on the courts, that is clear, but otherwise we are pleased with the numerous participation of our friends at the net, as well as for example on the stage of the Spa Theatre," adds the man who has been in the service of the famous spa despite his young age for many years.
One of the traditional participants, Marie Retkova, will be sadly absent. The TV and radio "Madame Mary" had to give it up in competition with a lot of other important work duties. "But many, many greetings to everyone, see you all next year for sure and say hello to my favorite partner, football coach Bob Panik," she says.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
