Sun Spa to host national opening of Museum Nights Festival

The festive programme in the Sunny Spa will include the awarding of important personalities working in the field of museology in the Zlín Region, a concert by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra and a presentation of cultural institutions of the Zlín Region and the town of Luhačovice. The Luhačovice Museum Night with a rich programme for the public will follow in the evening from 6 pm.

"The Museum Nights Festival is a great opportunity to bring cultural heritage closer to the general public and at the same time to enliven the evening life in our towns. We are proud that Luhačovice is hosting the national opening of this important cultural holiday," said Ivan Láska, the Zlín Region's Councillor for Culture and Tourism.

Museum Nights are not just about classic tours - institutions prepare unconventional events, interactive programs, concerts, creative workshops, theatres and experiential guided tours. Visitors can enjoy the unique atmosphere of evening-lit exhibitions and displays, as well as accompanying programmes for the whole family.

"Museums and galleries are often visited during Museum Night by people who would not normally visit them. This event offers them a unique opportunity to discover cultural institutions in a non-traditional time and atmosphere, which may lead to a return visit in the future," says Zuzana Vojtová, Director of the East Moravia Tourism Centre.

The Museum Nights Festival is an ideal opportunity to go behind the scenes of museums and galleries, visit them at an unusual time and experience culture in a different way - at night, under the stars and often for free or for a symbolic entrance fee.

• May 16: National opening of the Festival of Museum Nights at the Sunny Spa in Luhačovice. The opening will be followed by Luhačovice Museum Night.
