Tennis players have a feast, delicacies are distributed (not only) in Luhačovice

Which was the case in the 18th edition of the Calábek Cup. It's a tournament where the sight of the Luhačovice colonnade is teeming with male and female doctors who invite their friends from other professions.

This year's edition had one piquancy. After the tournament got underway, the rain came down so hard that it looked like an early end. The courts literally flooded with water, but the unbelievable happened. As soon as the sun came out again, the match resumed after a break of about an hour.

And the hotly contested doubles final was won by the pair of Krhovský, Šolc over the pair of Duben, Novák after a very close battle for every ball. Among the women, Marta and Iva Gergel, mother and daughter, won the organizers' top prize.

The Luhačovice venue will rest for just a moment. Already on Saturday, September 2, there will be another interesting company.

"We expect a very nice turnout of our friends and partners, a number of personalities who are at home on the courts. Martin, the father of our long-time best tennis player Tomáš Berdych, will come to defend his victory, but there will be over thirty fighters of all ages and professions," specifies an active participant of the competition, the CEO of Lázně Luhačovice a.s. Jiří Dědek.

"This is an event that my husband and I always really look forward to, not only on the courts, but for example in the Spa Theatre, where the Days of Slovak Culture usually culminate," declares her participation as always already polysportswoman, radio and TV presenter Marie Retková.
