Who is actually in charge of this amazing "history guide" of Luhačovice?

The head of reception and accommodation services is in charge of her, and protects her like an eye in the head. Her job, and that of the receptionists, is, among other things, to ask guests, usually familiar faces, for their autographs and also to say a few words about how they enjoyed their stay. And one thing is very important, picking the right moment to ask for a signature.

You can definitely outline which celebrities have signed up. Let's take a nice recent one, please.

If I'm not mistaken, the last interesting entry is from last August. Thanks for the good times were expressed by the husband and wife, actor and co-owner of Divadlo Bez zábradlí Karel Heřmánek Jr. and his wife, actress Nikol Kouklová. Beautiful words were written by the late Hana Maciuchová. That was in August 2018. She wrote literally: "Dear and dear ones, I treated my body and soul not only at Theatre Luhačovice, but also in your pleasant hotel Alexandria, which has open arms."

So really just a sampling. Hana Gregorova, Dana Batulkova. Biathletes Michal Krčmář and Ondřej Moravec thanked for all the comfort. Regular guests include Aleš Cibulka and Michal Jagelka, the president of the traditional theatre festival Miloslav Mejzlík, or the director general emeritus of the Slovak National Theatre Dušan Jamrich, of course there are many, many more.

If I'm not mistaken, Karel Gott had dinner with you in 2019 during the Zlín International Film Festival...

Exactly, I like to remember that he was as always very helpful and pleasant, even though his days in this world were growing sadly short.

You are known to have positive energy in the hotel. Do your guests reciprocate with the same coin?

Undoubtedly, yes. I remember that energy, for example, when Veronika Žilková and Michaela Dolinová had a great talk in the hotel club, full of interesting experiences from their personal lives and show business.

The idol of women and girls of all ages has been Jan Čenský for decades, he certainly did not miss his stay with you. How did he impress you?

He was impeccable, just as we know him from TV, film or theatre, a big likable guy who in this case really doesn't act anything.

This is about Czechs and Slovaks who have belonged to Alexandria and Luhačovice for decades. But I don't believe they are the only ones who wrote the history...

It's a well-known fact that guests from many countries seek peace, relaxation and comfort here. Perhaps this is best documented by the fact that I counted ten languages in the Memorial Book.

This wonderful book turns 65 this year. It is already a kind of chronicle of the glory of the famous hotel. But who writes about it besides our interviewer?

The book is mentioned by Mr. Vincenc Jančarik, he is the former long-time head of the French restaurant of our hotel. He worked here for a quarter of a century. He wrote a memoir in the book The Wedding Gift, which is just a wonderful chronicle from the war years to 1968. I think he has collected an extremely valuable testimony that captures a truly unique experience at the Alexandria Hotel. More on that, if you please, some other time.
