The spa town was dressed in a beautiful Christmas coat at the end of last week, when the streets were lit up with Christmas decorations. But the most awaited event, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, will take place this week, on Friday 2 December. This will be followed by a two-day fair with an accompanying programme.

This Friday, the entire town hall and the Christmas tree that permanently grows on the square of 28th October will be lit up. The lighting of the Christmas tree with the Mayor's Tea will include a new Angel's Ride and a light show by the Fajráci band. This year there is also a two-day fair with an accompanying programme, which is scheduled for Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3.
"On Friday, children and adults can come to see a display of birds of prey, there are workshops for children, the ZUŠ trumpeters, FS and CM Malé Zálesí, PS Janáček Luhačovice, etc. An important part of the event will be a charity collection Korunka Luhačovice from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in front of the town hall," said Luhačovice spokeswoman Hana Srncová.
On Saturday, visitors can look forward to an artistic blacksmith's shop Boršická kovárna, a Christmas concert performed by Magdalena Malaníková and Mirka Soukalová, and the highlight will be a screening of the film fairy tale The Angel of the Lord II.
In Luhačovice, of course, they have not forgotten about St. Nicholas, who will ride around the town in a historic carriage with his entourage of devils and angels on Monday, December 5. The St. Nicholas gift will be followed by a real devil's disco.
