"I ask everyone who can contribute to support the second phase of the rescue work, which will focus on the main palace of the castle. The estimated cost is 466 thousand. Your contribution to the collection can be sent to the transparent account no.: 297656026/0300, or alternatively by depositing cash at the cash desk of the Podhradí municipal office," said Podhradí mayor František Koudelka. The planned repairs are a continuation of Phase I, which was carried out in 2013 at a cost of approximately 990,000 crowns.

"Old Světlov is an important historical monument of our area and a popular place with both locals and visitors to the region. Therefore, we will also support the collection for the further restoration of Old Svetlov," said the mayor of Luhačovice Marian Ležák. As the mayor of Podhradí, František Koudelka, added, further financial support has already been negotiated with the municipality of Pozlovice and the municipalities of Provodov and Horní Lhota.

Preservationists hope that during the course of the rescue work, more historically valuable remains of the castle will be discovered, as was the case in 2013, when a large part of the castle ruins were successfully preserved. The rescue of the former main palace will also include the uncovering of the walls from centuries of deposits, i.e. their partial excavation. "We expect that during the work some historically valuable remains of the vaults will be discovered and we will gain further valuable information about the whole structure. But the main goal of the work is to protect the original medieval masonry," said conservationist Radim Vrla.

After the implementation of further rescue work, the original castle will be even more visible to all visitors, interesting historical facts will be uncovered and the monument will further gain in tourist attractiveness.

The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
