While in the past weeks information on the number of infected people in the region was publicly available only by district, on Wednesday 22 April the Zlín Region published data also by the territories falling under individual municipalities with extended jurisdiction. These data show that less than a dozen infected people have been registered in the 15 municipalities of the Luhačovice municipal district (see table below).

This positive information is of course also pleasing to the mayor of Luhačovice, Marian Ležák. "Our ORP is in the direct vicinity of more affected areas, but we are still one of the less affected localities. I am in close contact with the mayor of Uherský Brod and according to the information, the situation in our neighbours is already stabilised," Ležák said.
For the record, in addition to the spa town itself and its local parts, the territory of the Luahačovice municipality also includes Biskupice, Bohuslavice nad Vláří, Dolní Lhota, Horní Lhota, Lipová, Ludkovice, Petrůvka, Podhradí, Pozlovice, Rudimov, Sehradice, Slavičín, Slopná and Šanov.
From now on, up-to-date data should be available to the public on a regular basis for individual ORP. The Zlín Region intends to publish them on its website https://www.kr-zlinsky.cz/ People can find the data by clicking through to the INFORMATION ON THE CORONAVIR section via the link at the top of the front page.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
