At the time of the Easter holidays, officers were engaged in preventive supervision and consistent controls over public order, road traffic, compliance with individual government regulations and emergency measures associated with the declaration of a state of emergency in the streets of Luhačovice.

During the inspections, equal attention was paid to local areas of the city. Citizens could meet officers not only in the centre of Luhačovice but also in Řetechov, Kladná Žilín and Polichno. The foot patrol did not leave aside the inspection of spas, parks, children's playgrounds, sports grounds, cottage areas and the local cemetery.
Within the framework of the checks carried out by the emergency measures, they focused on compliance with the restricted movement of persons and exceptions resulting from the emergency regulation for public places, last but not least, they checked the ordered movement and stay outside the residence with respiratory protective equipment. Of course, patrols around the city also focused on compliance with generally applicable regulations. This is not to say that they currently accept any violation of legal standards. On the contrary, in the current situation, where the government has declared a state of emergency since March 12, which is generally an aggravating circumstance under the law, offenders face a much higher penalty for violating the law!
The ban on free movement of persons remains in force at present. However, as of Tuesday, April 7, it has been possible, (other than to travel to work and to attend to necessary trips and emergencies), to play outdoor sports in parks, the countryside and other public places. However, only individual sporting activities such as walking, running, cycling, outdoor skating, horse riding, tennis, golf, skiing, skateboarding and others can be undertaken. No more than two people, excluding household members, may participate in sports together. If more than one person is doing sports within the same area, they must keep a distance of at least two metres from each other, depending on the type of sport, either between individuals or between groups of two people doing the sport.
The Easter holidays could be assessed in terms of compliance with the measures in that, if citizens did not stay at home anymore and went out into the surrounding countryside or to outdoor sports grounds, they behaved responsibly. They preferred less populated suburbs, remembered to use protective equipment, kept a safe distance and did not crowd together. The weather was favourable for individual sports and healthy exercise in nature. Unlike in other towns in the country, in Luhačovice there were a minimum number of people outdoors and their behaviour was, apart from a few reprimands, exemplary. At the sports grounds, the patrols reminded visitors, especially children, of the need to observe the operating regulations as a precautionary measure along with the control of the emergency measure. We therefore remind everyone, especially children and their parents, that when playing individual sports on a sports ground, the operating rules of the sports ground apply and must be observed as part of safe operation. When outdoors, it is always necessary to bear in mind that you are in the Luhačovice Zálesí region, which is part of the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area, so park your vehicles and light fires only in places designated for this purpose within the framework of legal standards.
Due to the severity of the crisis situation, where the protection of the health of all citizens is of primary importance, the city's camera surveillance system is used for direct monitoring and evaluation of the footage as part of preventive controls in public spaces. Which increases the effectiveness of the resulting activities of officers in the field in monitoring compliance with emergency measures, public order and traffic issues.
We would like to thank Mrs. Veronika Záhorská and Mr. Josef Michálek for providing material support, respiratory protective equipment. With this charitable step they have definitely contributed to the increased protection of officers and the public. We greatly appreciate the selfless help and the perception of the necessity of our work!
For all citizens of the city, this is undoubtedly a challenging period and spending Easter in a home environment with limited habits, of which the officers are aware. Citizens have thanked the patrols in many places for their prevention and consistent checks and have been grateful for the attention given. We, in turn, thank them for their compliance with the ordinance and a peaceful Easter holiday season!
Dear Citizens, We all need to continue to be responsible and disciplined. The coronavirus epidemic in the Czech Republic is not over yet! We all have a common goal, to keep Luhačovice "healthy"!

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
