Since this year is the Year of Czech Music, this year's Songs and Dances festival will also be dedicated to the personalities of folk song collectors. Specifically, František Sušil, Martin Zeman, Josef Černík, Leoš Janáček and also to the memory of the festival's founder Věra Haluzová.

"From a large crowd of personalities, we have chosen those who have an anniversary this year. We believe that all of them have visited Luhačovice at least once during their lifetime. And at the same time we will also remember a personality who is intrinsically linked to Luhačovice. This is, among others, the founder of the Festival of Song and Dance, Mrs. Věra Haluzová," said Přemysl Janík on behalf of the festival organizers.

The festival will start on Thursday, September 12, with a literary and dramatic evening not only for children in the library in Luhačovice. "A world premiere of a play full of songs about the sailor Kryspin is waiting for you, workshops for children will be prepared again, but most importantly, an opening bonfire with roasting of sausages awaits us all," Janík revealed.

On Friday, the festival will visit Pozlovice, where organizers will commemorate the personalities of the Haluz family, who dedicated several decades of their lives to children in Zálesí. In addition to the local ensembles Malé Zálesí and Leluja, the "Vitajte u nás" programme will also feature guests from the surrounding area, including young dancers from Vizovjánk and CM Ocún. The performance will be followed by a children's discussion at the dulcimer in the Ogar shenek.

Saturday will also be filled with music, singing and dancing. Participants of the summer musicians' camp will perform at the Spa Square from 1 pm as part of the programme "Music in different genres and forms". Then, thanks to the show called "On the Overgrown Path", you will be able to follow the songs that charmed the musical great Leoš Janáček.

"If, like him, you just want to let the music influence you in the beautiful surroundings of the Sun Baths, or just want to sing, then come to the Sun Baths from 16:30 to the programme "Let's play to you, to you"," invites folklore lovers Přemysl Janík.

On Sunday you can come at 10:15 together with the costumed people to give thanks for the summer moments, including the harvest, at a festive mass in the Holy Family Church. From 14:30, the young costumed guests will go to the spa, where the programme of the final gala concert from 15:00 will be dedicated to folk song and the personalities of the jubilant greats.

"Accept our invitation and come and recharge your batteries at the spring of youth, which has been gushing in Luhačovice regularly in September for more than 30 years. We hope that we will be wished from above and the weather will be favorable," invites Přemysl Janík on behalf of the organizers.
