The Luhačovice Colonnade became the Region's Monument of the Year

This regularly recognizes the sensitive restoration of historic buildings over the past year. The competition is organised by the Association of Historic Settlements of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia.

The Colonnade and Vincentka Hall were renovated at a cost of more than CZK 150 million. The reconstruction has returned the building to its former splendour. Although the renovation has mainly tried to preserve the original spirit of the building, the sensitively repaired colonnade also offers visitors some new features. For example, a new exhibition in the Vincentka has been created, and two previously inaccessible atriums of the colonnade have been made accessible. The Vincentka mineral water has been brought out to a new drinking fountain in the middle of the colonnade, and the original Vincentka well, which was discovered during the reconstruction, is attractively integrated into the colonnade. The colonnade has also changed the use of commercial space. A mixture of shops has been replaced by new cafés and a spa information centre, which are more attractive to tourists.
