The so-called most popular spring in Luhačovice is Ottovka, which is also the third most famous of all 16 local springs. The spring was named after Count Otto Serenyi (1855-1927), who was first recorded in 1905 in a stone cellar.

Where can I find Ottovka?

The Ottovka mineral spring rises on the right bank of the Horní Olšava River at the foot of the slope of Mala Kamenná - 10 metres higher than other springs in Luhačovice. In 1929, a circular pavilion designed by architect Skřivánek was built near its source.

What does the spring help?

Ottovka has an increased content of iodine, iron, boric acid and some trace elements. Luhačovice mineral waters are considered one of the most effective in Europe. It is used for drinking treatment and its yield is only 3 l/min. They help in the spa treatment of the respiratory system, musculoskeletal system, digestive system, circulatory system, diabetes and recovery after cancer treatment.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre

The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force.
