The new headmaster of Luhačovice Primary School will be Mgr. Pavel Kurtin

During a short meeting on 2 June, the future new principal was introduced to the staff of the primary school by Mayor Ing. Marian Ležák together with the deputy mayor Ing. Jiří Šůstek.

"I wish Mr. Ležák all the best for his tenure as principal of Luhačovice Primary School. He has many tasks ahead of him, but we know that he is a quality teacher with good managerial skills. Moreover, he can rely on the very good teaching staff of our school," said Mayor Marian Ležák.

The 46-year-old Kurtin currently works as deputy headmaster at the Břeclav Primary School, which is located in Slovácká Street there. "It is a similar school to the one in Luhačovice. For example, there is a study class, a class with extended physical education. In terms of size, it is also comparable to the Luhačovice primary school. However, there are more schools in Břeclav and there is competition between them," Kurtin noted. He also revealed what made him apply from distant Břeclav for the competition for the position of Luhačovice school principal. "I am returning to my native region because I come from nearby Hostětín. I also studied high school in nearby Uherský Brod. I moved to Břeclav years ago," Kurtin explained.

He received his university education at the Faculty of Education at the University of Olomouc. He also studied at the Faculty of Physical Culture in Olomouc. "My primary specialization is computer science, but I also have a background in physical education and physics," Kurtin added. And with what is Kurtin going to the management of Luhačovice Primary School? "Mainly I am going into it with enthusiasm, I have set a lot of goals. The school must return to normal after the holidays, but there is still reconstruction going on. The next big task will be to complete the complete digitalisation of the school," the future headmaster remarked. Before he officially starts in Luhačovice, he will have to finish the school year in Breclav, but also gradually take over the agenda at the Luhačovice primary school.
