None of the organizers was sure whether the event would be able to be restored and whether people would find their way to the traditional feast. However, Luhačov residents and spa guests filled the lower floor of the Sokolovna to the brim and together with the organizers, masqueraders and the peculiar "parson" managed to create an atmosphere of true carnival merriment.
"When the mayor Marian Ležák welcomed everyone present and opened the festive evening, the dance floor filled up, the mythical Saratoga drink flowed, and thanks to the generous support of sponsors, perhaps no spectator left without a raffle prize," said the Luhačovice Ski Club.
Nobody doubted that the tradition of ending the Mardi Gras had been successfully revived in Luhačovice during the evening.
"We are already looking forward to the Burying of the Bass again next year!" added the members of the Ski Club.
