In the first two weeks of August, the traditional Václav Hudeček Academy was held in Luhačovice, during which eighteen violinists and violinists aged from thirteen to twenty-two years old gathered in the spa town to improve their violin playing under the guidance of the experienced virtuoso.

In the end, it was eighteen-year-old Klára Klánská, a student at the Prague Conservatory, who did best, taking home the grand prize - a master violin.

"The grand prize goes to the best violin every time. This is a masterful instrument built by a master Czech violin maker. D The second prize is then a master bow, which is worth over ten thousand crowns. The third prize is electronics, such as a mobile phone or tablet," violin virtuoso Václav Hudeček listed the valuable prizes.

It was he, along with another lecturer Jiří Fišer and accompanist Lukáš Klánský, who were members of the expert jury that decided this year's winners. Behind Klára Klánská, Richard Kollert came second and Matěj Pčolinský took third place.

The Václav Hudeček Academy was founded twenty-six years ago primarily as a course offering. Fifteen years ago, it grew to include the Festival of Music in Luhačovice, during which former winners of the academy, who are now pursuing music on a professional level, also present themselves to the audience.

"The first batch of guests who come to us are now my esteemed colleagues. They are international soloists such as Josef Špaček, Jan Mráček and Jiří Vodička. And this year, for example, David Hernych, Matteo Hager and Marek Pavlica have come to the academy again. This is another strong trio of future great Czech violinists," smiled Václav Hudeček.
