On Friday 26th June the school year ended for all pupils of the Luhačovice primary school. Some of them received their report cards in the previous days.

"The whole process of handing out report cards had to be improvised, just as the organization of teaching in this school year had to be improvised. Unfortunately, the situation was the way it was, we all had to cope with it, but I think that thanks to the good cooperation of all colleagues, pupils and parents, we have successfully managed this term. We handed out report cards in three days, on Wednesday the sixth graders received their report cards, on Thursday the ninth graders and on Friday the pupils of grades 1 to 5 and the eighth graders," said Roman Lebloch, the principal of Luhačovice Primary School. On the following Monday and Tuesday, when the school year is still officially in session, the pupils were given the principal's leave. This is the case in many primary schools in the region, but in the Luhačovice school there is even more reason for it. "The school is undergoing construction work and in this situation it was not appropriate to call the children to school for the next two days," Lebloch outlined.

Because the coronavirus threat this year meant that teaching was partly "distance learning" and even the ministry's guidelines spoke of grading in light of the events of the past few months, report cards were certainly not down on those at half-term. "To a large extent, this grade is maintained at the end of the year, but for many it has improved , because they really actively worked remotely from home," Lebloch said. This year, thanks to the more lenient assessment, there were no failures or candidates for the remedial exams. All the children can look forward to a pleasant holiday after their report cards. Some pupils, however, deserved a special reward this year. For example, those who contributed significantly to the school's further victory in the Wallachian Sports League, or the great winner of the Biological Olympiad. The top ten pupils were received and personally thanked by the Mayor Marian Ležák in the last week of school.

The past school year, which was truly extraordinary, was also the last in office for the current principal Lebloch. He is leaving that post because his second term expired and he no longer faces opposition in the school board. He was thanked for his many years of excellent work on the school board by the city administration at the June meeting of the city council, of which he is also a member.
