Traditional air navigation returned to Luhačovice. The exercise takes place in the newly opened area of the Sun Spa

The individual exercise elements of aerial swimming draw on the modern concept of group therapeutic physical education. The procedure is prescribed as part of rehabilitation for a wide range of musculoskeletal and nervous system diseases, respiratory rehabilitation and post-cancer recovery programs.

It is also suitable as a regular low to moderate intensity exercise that, along with other physical activities, is a suitable part of the prevention of the development of civilization diseases.

"Luhačovice airboating is a concept brought to the Luhačovice Spa in the early 20th century by Jan Svozil, a professor of the Real Gymnasium and a physical education teacher, on the direct commission of the founder of the joint-stock company Dr. Vesely. Professor Svozil brought his personality as an ethnographer to air swimming and enriched it with modern therapeutic exercises inspired by the trend of healthy lifestyle popular in Western Europe," says Lázně Luhačovice in the latest Lázeňské listy.

The exercise not only included humour, hyperbole and singing, but also cultural and social elements that allowed participants to mingle, engage in team sports and chat. However, the emphasis from the beginning was on the positive health effects of the exercise. The exercises were chosen so that they could be performed anywhere, but preferably in nature. Exercises that mimic the movements of swimming were also included.

The Luhačovice airwalking sessions take place in the newly opened Sun Spa area from May to June. They practice twice a week, always on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:00 or 8:30 to 9:00. Treatments can be purchased at the spa's downtown clinic.
