Treatment of postcovid syndrome with a special laser has excellent results in the Luhačovice sanatorium

From the beginning of February to June this year, a pilot project was conducted to test a new treatment for post-covid syndrome using a special laser radiation. During the nearly six-month test run at the Miramare sanatorium in Luhačovice, doctors indicated 715 applications of special laser lung irradiation therapy.

And the results were more than positive. More than 80% of patients experienced a significant improvement in their health immediately after the applications. Further improvements followed when cumulated with traditional spa treatments such as therapeutic inhalations, full-body baths or individual kinesiotherapy. The effect of the treatment was assessed on the basis of the patient's subjective assessment, comparison of SpO2 values on a pulse oximeter, spirometry results and X-ray findings of the lungs before and after treatment.

"The pilot project for the treatment of post-covida with a special high-power laser, which was carried out in collaboration with the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Czech Technical University, looked very promising from the beginning. Patient interest was and is huge, and the results are excellent. That is why we decided to purchase this high-power laser and include this treatment in our standard treatment procedures," evaluated Martin Plachý, CEO of the Royal Spa Group.

Post-covid treatment using laser therapy can effectively help patients within a few weeks, so that they do not have to be treated with inhaled medications for many months.

The special treatment consists of five applications of MLS laser therapy on five consecutive days, followed by respiratory physiotherapy, individual kinesiotherapy, inhalation, hydrotherapy and other spa treatments. The entire treatment lasts 2-3 weeks.

The Miramare Luhačovice Spa Sanatorium is currently the only rehabilitation facility in the Zlín Region that offers innovative treatment of postcovid syndrome using MLS laser therapy.
