Vicar Vladimir Schlimbach celebrates. How else but by activity, movement and work

Vladimir, the history is quite described, so just for the sake of order and to refresh your mind, when and where did the girl's saxophone orchestra originate?

I carried the idea for some time, I was working as a cantor in Olomouc, then we moved to the Zlín region for a better climate, I started teaching in Vlachovice.

So the history of the orchestra began there?

Yes, it was there, that the orchestra was perceived for decades as Luhačovice, that's also true, seven years later in the early seventies our family moved to Luhačovice and that's where the connection was made. But we do not forget Vlachovice.

A lot has been said about the history, but it is a musical formation that keeps going. Well, what's in store for you in the next few days?

We always take a break during the holidays to recharge, I'm working on the scores and looking forward to the first rehearsals. Which will be at our place in Luhačovice on the 5th of September, and on the 8th we will go to the colonnade concert in the friendly spa town of Piešt'any.

But the autumn part of the season is just beginning...

Exactly, we will perform in many places, of course we do not forget the mother Luhačovice, as well as we will play for example in Brno.

And what about Prague Castle, on October 28th you are always the pearl of state honours there, will you be there this year too?

That's interesting, last year we got a call from the Office of the President of the Republic fourteen days before the performance, so we'll see. We've had a remarkable run of appearances in that regard, twenty-six so far. We're going to be pleasantly surprised and if not, it's already amazing.

Well, it's also amazing the great shape you're in. It's already fallen, you're celebrating your 89th birthday. Unbelievable, do you have a guide for others on how to be in such shape?

I don't have a patent on sanity, but I am lucky to have good health and good people around me. A positive mind, work and movement are my engines that I manage to start again and again.
