This year's theme is "Folklore as Theatre". Puppets in various forms have been part of the world of children and even today, perhaps more than ever, children have their plush and other friends to play with. The tradition of puppetry has developed so much in our country and Slovakia that it has even been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. That is why we, regardless of age, will also be playing this year.

We start on Thursday, September 10, when a literary and dramatic evening for children with the theme of puppets will take place in the library in Luhačovice. You will be able to watch puppet performances by the Brod Theatre or come and create something or just roast a sausage.

On Friday, the festival will visit Pozlovice, where we will remember the personalities of the Haluz family, who devoted several decades of their lives to children in our Zálesí region.

In addition to the local ensembles Malé Zálesí and Leluja, the programme "Vitajte u nás" will also feature guests from the surrounding area, including Skřivánek from Hřivínovo Újezda and Lipta from Liptal. Or you will be able to come to a children's talk at the dulcimer in the Ogar Hotel.

On Saturday we will be accompanied by Kašpárek. Literally. In the morning, he will be presented by the Svatov Theatre from Litoměřice and in the afternoon he will open as the Slovak Gašparko in a performance by Slovak puppeteers. Saturday's programme will culminate on the stage of Lázeňské náměstí, where individual participants of the festival will draw us into stories and songs from Bohemia performed by the ensemble Kohoutek from Chrudim, Moravia represented by Maryjánek from Zlín, Úsměv from Opava representing Silesia and the ensemble Vienok from Slovakia.

On Sunday, you can come together with the costumed people to give thanks for the harvest and all that we have been blessed with during a festive mass in the Church of the Holy Family. Or join us for a walk through the towns and villages of our region as part of the afternoon programme. So accept our invitation and come and recharge your batteries at the spring of youth, which has been gushing in Luhačovice regularly in September for 28 years.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre

The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
