World-famous soloists and ensembles will come to the 30th jubilee Festival Janáček a Luhačovice

The festival, which is entering its 30th year this year, will take place from 11 to 15 July. This time, it will also remain true to its tradition and its main purpose, namely to present the life and work of the famous composer Leoš Janáček, who repeatedly returned to the local spa, which was often his inspiration.

"Because of the festival's relationship with Leoš Janáček, the jubilee edition can offer perhaps nothing more extraordinary than his Glagolitic Mass, which the master composed in Luhačovice in 1926 during his stay at the Augustinian House. The Saturday afternoon dedicated to Janáček's piano works, performed by the leading pianist and teacher Jan Jirasky, or the photography exhibition "Janáček's Journeys" will also have its own significance," said festival manager Milena Hrbáčová.

Guests who prefer the works of other composers will also find something to enjoy. "The overall dramaturgy of the festival, conceived for demanding listeners as well as for spa guests and children, will offer a rich programme with a wide range of compositions and a variety of genres, e.g. A. Vivaldi, F. Jiránek, G. A. Brescianello, J. Haydn, J. Mysliveček, W. A. Mozart, O. Respighi, P. I. Tchaikovsky, L. Janacek, B. Martinů, G. Holst and others," said Hrbáčová.

This selected concert repertoire will be performed by world-renowned soloists and ensembles, including Petr Nouzovský, Irvin Venyš, Smetana Trio, Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice, Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, Collegium Marianum and other performers.

The accompanying programme will also feature the colourful and varied Moravian folklore that so inspired and in a way conquered Janáček himself. "Children will not be forgotten during the jubilee edition either, for whom a continuation of the week-long interactive workshop Adventure with Bystrouška will be prepared in the week from 10 to 14 July under the guidance of Lenka Psotová and Jitka Dulíková Gottfriedová," added the festival manager.
