The new footbridge over the Št'ávnica River will connect the housing estate with the parking area on the opposite bank by the Mat pub.
"Work will start in March, depending on the weather and site preparation. The construction should take about 22 weeks," said the mayor of Luhačovice, Marian Ležák.
Luhačovice town hall is warning residents and visitors that there may be restrictions around the site during construction.
"We therefore ask citizens to respect the signage, observe safety precautions and exercise extra caution when moving around the area. It is likely that the use of the parking area will also be restricted. We will keep the public informed of all restrictions and up-to-date information," the town of Luhačovice said.
The new footbridge will improve the town's connectivity and make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists.
"At the same time the repair of the road and pavements on Družstevní Street, from the crossroads to the distillery, will start. It is necessary to lay a new surface after repairing the water supply and extending the sewer system," added Mayor Lezak.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre
The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
