The construction of a new cycle path connecting the local part of Polichno with the cycle path in Újezdec u Luhačovic has been given the green light. Many years of efforts to safely connect Uherský Brod and Luhačovice for cyclists and other trail users will thus progress one more piece.

The town of Luhačovice has been successful and has been promised a European subsidy from the Integrated Regional Operational Programme for the construction of a new cycle path that will connect the local part of Polichno with the already completed cycle path from Újezdec near Luhačovice now ending at the border of the cadastres.
"The new one-kilometre section of the cycle path will lead from the border of the cadastres of Polichno and Újezdec u Luhačovic along the road II/490 to the local part of Polichno. The costs are estimated at approx. CZK, of which the subsidy from the Integrated Regional Operational Programme will amount to a maximum of CZK 31.8 million.
The final amount will be clear after the tender for the construction contractor, which is currently being prepared. The main part of the construction works should take place in 2024.
"We are very pleased that we are successfully building this cycle path towards Uherský Brod. Many questions have been repeated about the Biskupice - Polichno connecting section, where we have not yet been able to find an agreement with the landowner. But I am optimistic and I believe that we will see it here one day," added the mayor of Luhačovice, Marian Ležák.
