Luhačovice is expecting a big influx of tourists this weekend. Traffic will be controlled by shuttle

This Friday and on the weekend of 6 - 8 May, the popular Opening of the Springs will take place in Luhačovice again, symbolically opening this year's spa season. After two covid years, the organizers have decided to hold it in a big way.

"The three-day celebration of the Opening of the Springs is one of the most important events in our spa town. Each year we enjoy the opportunity to celebrate the unique and irreplaceable natural assets of the local spa, the natural and mineral springs. The highlight of the celebration is the Sunday mass and the subsequent blessing of the springs. Together with the parish priest, we will walk along the so-called Trail of the Springs and give thanks for them and for all those who use their healing power," said Jarmila Ďurďová, head of the Department of Culture and Tourism.

The traditional event enjoys great public interest every year and this year's event will certainly be no exception. The city is already preparing for an increased influx of local and out-of-town visitors.

"We want to support this event again by introducing a shuttle service, both on Saturday and Sunday. And for that I would like to thank all the volunteer firefighters who are helping us a lot with this," said the mayor of Luhačovice Marian Ležák.

A parking lot will be created on the approach from Uherský Brod, from where shuttle buses will transport visitors to the town centre. The shuttle service will be available on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 6 pm. The minibuses will turn around after half an hour, and the pick-up and drop-off stations will be located in front of the City Tourist and Information Centre.

Another option for getting to the city centre is the local ČSAD shuttle service.
